4. How can I search in the directory?
You have probably noticed that at the top of each page there is a search section. On the right side you can set an “Extended Search” option, which, in case of a multi-word search, allows you to search for any or all words, or to ask for a complete match. 5. Where can I set the option for a link to open in a new window? Above the links in a given category you will find an “Extended Settings” button. By clicking on this button, you can decide wether or not you want to open the link in the same window, or in a new one. 6. Where can I change the setting if I don’t want the details of links to appear, but I just want a simple list of all the links in a category? Above the links in a given category you will find an “Extended Settings” button. If you click on this button, you can choose whether or not hungaroo should show the links in full detail, or only as a list, hiding the details. 7. Where can I set the directory’s language? In the top right hand corner of each page you can set the directory’s language to German, Hungarian or English. 8. What do the different linguistic variations mean? You can set hungaroo’s language to Hungarian, English and German. You will still find every link in a given category, but those links will be placed on top of the list which are available in the language you have selected. The little flags under the links show you what languages they are available in. By clicking on them, you will be directed to the site of the appropriate language. 9. How can I change the order of hits that have appeared? Basically, hits are displayed according to the date of entry into the directory. However, you can change the order they appear in by changing the criteria of selection, which can be that of: alphabetical order, popularity, (i.e. the number of clicks), evaluation (what kind of rating the link has received), and language. 10. How can I rate or comment on a link? Below the link you wish to rate you’ll find a link under “Rating and Commenting”. By clicking on this you will see a detailed description of the link, where you can rate and comment on that particular site. Rating is from excellent to poor, so you can give it a minimum of one star and a maximum of five. 11. What does the number mean after the category heading? The number in brackets shows how many links there are in that category and its subcategories. 12. What does the @ sign mean after the category heading? The @ sign means that a particular subcategory is not found in the main category in which it is indicated, but it also appears there, because it is closely related in subject matter. There are so-called cross-categories, which appear in more than one location. For example, “Language Courses” is a subcategory that is originally in the category of Qualification & Learning/Courses, but it also appears, fitted with an @ sign, among the category of Companies. If you want to know where a subcategory with an @ sign originally belongs to, scroll the mouse above it, and on the lower left hand side of the screen you will see its original location. 13. What are the “Related Categories”? Related categories are, surprisingly, categories which are related to the specific topic, but not closely enough to make it an integral part of the category. So for example the Companies/Finance category will automatically appear in the Finance & Business category. I think this needs no further explanation. 14. What do those tiny little flags mean under the description of the links? The flags are there because it would have been too long to write the words Hungarian, English or German. This way you just click on the the eappropriate banner, and you instantly arrive at the language version you would like. The red, white and green is the Hungarian flag. Clicking on this you arrive at the Hungarian version of the site. Look, we’ll help: the black, red and yellow is the German flag. Behind this flag you’ll find – surprise! – the German language version. The flag with the red crossing stripes on a blue background is the British flag. Naturally, people speak Hungarian, German and English in other countries, too; the flags we chose in no way intend to discriminate against other countries. 15. What does “Number of Clicks” mean under the description of the links? “Number of Clicks” naturally means the number of clicks the link has received through hungaroo. The more people click on the site, the bigger the number will be. And I ain’t joking. 16. What does “Rating and Commenting” mean under the description of the links? By clicking on “Rating and Commenting”, you can find out how many people have rated or commented on the given site, and you can also rate and comment on it. 17. What do the stars mean next to some of the links? Stars next to the link means that the link has already been rated. Since you can give maximum five stars for a link, and you must give it at least one, the average rating will be somewhere between those two numbers. The five little stars will be filled in with a nice orange color accordingly. Therefore, if the average rating of a site is around 3.5, then three and a half stars will be orange. If you move your mouse above the star, the exact value will appear. 18. I want newsletters! All right. All you have to do is click on the “Newsletter” button at the bottom of the page, and you are ready to enter your email address. From this moment on, you will receive hungaroo’s interesting and entertaining newsletters. 19. I don’t want any newsletters! No problem, don’t go feeling all guilty about it. If you click on the “Newsletter” button at the bottom of the page and enter the email address where you have been receiveing the newsletters, then we won’t send you any more of those interesting and highly entertaining newletters—unless of course you change your mind again, and re-register. 20. What does the word “New” mean before the links? A link remains “new” for one week after it has been registered in the link directory. Therefore, you will see the note “New” for one week. 21. What kind of links are under the “Newest Links” button? “Newest Links” contains the last 20 links that have been added to the hungaroo directory. 22. What kind of links appear under “Top Links”? “Top Links” contains the 20 highest rated sites, but only if it has gotten at least 10 ratings. 23. Which links appear under “Popular Links”? The 20 most often clicked on links appear under “Popular Links”. 24. Who can I turn to with any remarks or complaints? If you have any observations, complaints, or any positive comments to share, write us a letter to help@hungaroo.com. 25. Under what conditions can I use hungaroo? At the bottom of every page you will find the “Conditions of Use” button, where you can find any information you are looking for. 26. Where can I find the Data Protection Declaration? At the bottom of every page you may click on the “Data Protection Declaration”, where you can find any information you are looking for. Utoljára módosítva: hungaroo által : 2007-01-03 12:25. |
